The girls have some really great teachers. I realize not everyone’s remote learning experience is going well and I wish that was not the case. I wish every student had teachers like ours who are in constant communication with the students and the parents, who are genuinely asking for feedback, how they can help the students, and then actually making changes based on that feedback.

Sensing the kids are starting to feel the fatigue of remote learning and sitting in front a computer for hours on end, our teachers have begun to modify the lessons. Gabby’s teachers have decreased the amount of work overall, now that they have all had the chance to try a few things out, see what works, what doesn’t.

Samantha’s teachers have started giving some new fun outside the box type of assignments. This week the class had two options to replace a math or science assignment – create a cooking demo or a weather report video. Samantha, to no surprise, chose to do a cooking demo.

We all had fun assisting her and she did a great job! She exclaimed this was the best part of remote learning – being able to do a fun project like this one.

Lemon Blueberry Coffee Cake
Samantha chose to make a lemon blueberry coffee cake, a modified version from Fed & Fit’s cinnamon swirl coffee cake. It was delicious!
