Another Saturday.

We spent a good bit of the afternoon drawing. I brought out all the art supplies – colored pencils, stickers, stamps, paper.

We worked on a few cards and pictures to send to various friends as well as some residents of a long term care facility. Over the past week, most nursing and retirement homes were no longer allowing visitors, making for a very lonely and confusing situation for these residents. We hoped a few fun drawings might brighten their day.

We were in the office with music playing, drawing and creating away. Hours passed before we realized.

It felt so good. It was reassuring. It was calming.

I don’t know why I don’t make time for it more often.

Maybe this will be another habit and permanent change in routine for me – making time each week if not each day to do something creative.
